SUCCESS STORIES

Dive into our heartwarming tales of teamwork and triumph! At Sawtell 2030, every success is a shared adventure towards a healthier future.

School Kitchen Garden Initiative

SAWTELL PUBLIC SCHOOL

In a magnificent display of community collaboration, Sawtell 2030 orchestrated the unforgettable School’s Kitchen Garden Initiative at the Sawtell Public School. With the invaluable support of local parents, enthusiastic teachers, the 'Hilltop Cafe', and the Health Promotion unit from the Mid North Coast Local Health District, we turned a vision into reality.

At the heart of this event was our younger generation, who were treated to an immersive sensory and sustainable learning journey. The once-underutilised school vegetable patches were transformed into thriving gardens, each plant bearing witness to the care and dedication of our community.

The highlight? Our region's skilled chefs, who, using the fresh produce harvested from our revitalised gardens, showcased a live culinary demonstration. Students and parents alike were captivated, witnessing the magic of true farm-to-table dining!

Move Better Event

THE LINK

At our "Move Better" event, we celebrated eco-friendly and delightful ways to traverse our world. Participants shared their firsthand experiences with pushbikes, e-bikes, electric cars, and scooters. We emphasized not only the joy of these modes but also the health and environmental benefits. More walking means healthier lives and happier families. Our discussion ventured into past successes and paved the way for future collaborations with councils, schools, and key stakeholders.

Food Matters Event

THE SHED, HULBERTS ROAD

At our 'Food Matters' event in February 2023, community spirit buzzed as locals gathered for an insightful viewing of the award-winning documentary 'Kiss The Ground.' Narrated by Woody Harrelson, the film delves deep into the crucial relationship between farming practices, environmental health, and our food's journey from soil to plate. Attendees discovered the transformative power of conscious consumer choices, both close to home and across the globe.

Local farming enthusiasts and food producers illuminated the path towards healthier eating habits, emphasizing the profound benefits to our ecosystems. The event was punctuated with delightful tasting plates, fostering new connections and nurturing an atmosphere of optimism. Together, we championed a proactive, solutions-driven approach to the climate challenges before us.
